Austin's 1st Soccer Game

Austin had tons of fun at his very first soccer game last week.  Watching 12 five-year-olds chase the ball everywhere is both hilarious and maybe a little annoying.  It was a great time though and Austin's hoping the weather will cooperate so he can hit the pitch more often.
Warm up drills
Austin apparently doing a pirouette... right before he fell.
I was kind enough not to include the picture of him on his butt :)
Calm before the storm

There's that Michael Jordan thing again

"Guys, wait up.  I'm trying to fix my socks!"
Back to business.

The following pictures are what can only be described as the celebratory phase of the game.  Austin scored his very first goal and his team dominated.  They don't keep score and there's no goalies, but still.

Austin's 1st Practice

A cough and 40 degree weather couldn't stop Austin and his team from having a blast at their first U-5 soccer practice.
Practice started with some penny stealing to get the kids warmed up.  The kids tucked them in like tails.
Austin's thinking, "No one's stealing my penny!!"
Sharks and minnows...can you guess which one Austin was?
The scariest shark ever!

Pelé in the Making

I recently purchased a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and it finally came yesterday.  Austin and I went outside to take a few test shots and I have to say... it's amazing!!  Shooting Austin playing soccer with Michelle at 8 frames a second was unreal.  I kept the lens at f/2.8 the entire time and the focus was lightning fast.  I'm really looking forward to learning this lens and taking tons of pictures of Austin's soccer games, the upcoming birth of our new baby and anything and everything else.  Here's the first captured moments of Austin's soccer career.  You have to love his faces :)

I have no idea... but it sure was hilarious.

Making farting noises while he kicks?  I'm not sure...

Rocking the spider-man shoes.

He sure does love being outside.

He's thinking, "I'm gonna kick you or punch you.  You're going down one way or another."

Michael Jordan didn't play soccer but Austin doesn't care.
